Ready to have some serious fun playing the blues? “The Blues Highway” is a handmade, fretless (designed to be played with a slide), 3 string cigar box guitar with a piezo electric pickup and a 25 - 1/2” scale. The main body simulates a hard cover book and is made of Baltic birch plywood with the front engraved and painted to simulate the cover of the book “A Meeting at the Crossroads” about Robert Johnson’s supposed deal with the devil. The neck is made of red oak with a black walnut layer laminated under the fretboard. The peghead has a black walnut overlay. The path of the Blues Highway is engraved along the fretboard with key blues history locations used to mark the important fret locations. Fret lines are accurately engraved on the fretboard, so you know where to go with that slide! This guitar features sealed guitar tuners and a black walnut banjo style bridge with an inlaid fret for improved note clarity. Even though it can be played through an amp, it is loud enough acoustically to have a great time without one!
