Ready to have some serious fun playing some trail tunes around a campfire? The “AT Guide” is a handmade, fully fretted, 3 string cigar box guitar with a piezo electric pickup and a 25 - 1/2” scale. The main body simulates a hard cover book and is made of Baltic birch plywood with an image of the Appalachian Trail logo engraved and painted on the front as part of a Trail Guide concept. The neck is made of red oak with a black walnut layer laminated under the fretboard. The peghead has a black walnut overlay. Hiking Boot prints indicate the traditional fret positions. We have also engraved all of the state names along the trail at each fret, from Georgia to Maine! The frets are accurately positioned, pressed in, and polished. This guitar features sealed guitar tuners and a black walnut banjo style bridge with an inlaid fret for improved note clarity. Even though it can be played through an amp, it is loud enough acoustically to have a great time without one!
